“If we strive to cultivate musical sensitivity and perception in our students, we must likewise give adequate recognition
for their efforts and achievements, and we must inspire them to strive for higher goals.  In what better way than by bestowing upon them life membership in a worldwide honorary organization for musical youth?”
-Alexander Harley Founder, Tri-M Music Honor Society

Founded in 1936 by Alexander and Frances Harley, incorporated and renamed Modern Music Masters in 1952, and in 1983 recognized as the Tri-M Music Honor Society, Tri-M is a student-run organization sponsored by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).  Tri-M is open to any MVHS curricular music student, based upon the recommendation of their respective ensemble director plus approval of the music department, and a 3.1 or higher GPA.  The essence of Tri-M is to honor our best music students, as well as afford them an opportunity to strengthen and enhance our music department through service projects and various activities.  Tri-M strives to encourage music students to work together, raise public support and awareness for school music programs, and help students to reach full musical potential. Tri-M is proud to be Metea's largest service organization.  Member meetings occur the first Tuesday of each month unless otherwise noted.  Until further notice, member meetings will occur virtually.  Mrs. Paulette Boddy, Mr. Josh Kaminsky, & Mrs. Robin Sackschewsky are the Tri-M Faculty Advisors.
