2023-2024 School Year Chamber Audition Materials
Auditions should be submitted in ONE VIDEO. Each component of the audition (scales, etude, excerpt, and solo) can be recorded individually and put together into one video, but the individual components of the audition SHOULD NOT BE EDITED.
For example, a student can record their scales, then take a break and record their etudes, but they cannot edit the scale portion. If the student wishes, they can also record the entire audition on one take. This needs to be submitted by Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
There are four components to the audition (Scale, Etude, Excerpt, and Solo):
1. Scales: TWO 3 octave scales (one major and one melodic minor) Quarter Note=100
-Violin: E Major and c melodic minor
-Viola: A Major and g melodic minor
-Cello: A Major and g melodic minor
-Bass: D Major and c melodic minor (2 octaves for both)
2. Etude:
-Violin: Mazas No. 209
-Viola: Mazas No. 151
-Cello: Dotzauer No. 33
-Bass: Simandl No. 6
